While studying at the Studio Berçot in Paris, Laurent Fouquet created his own personal universe in which music plays a large part.

In order to visually illustrate the musical atmospheres that are dear to him, hefocuses his creation on a story and a powerful universe drawing its sources from the energy of contemporary youth.

Laurent Fouquet now presents his first collection after having worked as a trainee for various fashion houses such as Martine Sitbon, Sonia Rykiel or Louis Vuitton.

He likes to surround himself with friends and artists sharing common influences. The universe he presents here, through his first collection, is a personal synthesis of diverse elements drawn from cinema, music and photography. This is where he finds his motivation.

Laurent Fouquet’s second collection draws its inspiration from a Norse mythological tale, Nibelungen, meaning “the people of darkness”.

This 13th century legend relates Knight Siegried’s exploits and inspired composer Richard Wagner. This medieval epic is related in The Song of the Nibelungs.

With this collection, Laurent Fouquet depicts in his own way a time when man and nature were tightly connected, when the dividing line between myth and reality did not exist.

The chivalric world is also represented, reinterpreted and re-embodied in a sublimated vision of youth.

Laurent Fouquet draws a parallel between 19th century photographer Margaret Cameron and contemporary photo artist Sally Mann. Their respective works, though very distant in time, meet on a common ground, telling this bound between man and nature.
